The treatment

A hair transplant for women follows a similar treatment process as in men for the most part. In women, groups of hair follicles are also redistributed from the donor area (usually the back of the head) to the transplant area. Both the FUE-Sapphire technique and the DHİ-Choi technique can be applied.

The newly grown hair after a hair transplant treatment will not fall out again if the cause is genetic, as in the case of Androgenetic Alopecia. The transplanted hairs from the back of the head have a different genetic predisposition, making them immune to the male DHT hormone that causes hair loss in Androgenetic Alopecia.

Hair Loss Due to Alopecia Areata

Becoming immune to the male DHT hormone is not possible if there is no Androgenetic Alopecia but rather Alopecia Areata, where hair falls out in a patchy manner.

This pattern of hair loss is unpredictable and not related to the DHT hormone. Therefore, a growth guarantee for transplanted hairs cannot be assured in the case of hair loss due to alopecia areata. The transplanted hairs may still fall out at a later stage after a hair transplant.
